Good question! In many large cities, you throw all waste into one bin, and the municipality later separates the usable materials. This is called post-separation. It sounds easy, but it has a major drawback: everything gets contaminated. What a waste of all those valuable resources!
At Droppie, we practice source separation. By keeping materials separate at home, we create a 100% clean stream. This allows our partners to recycle high-quality materials: your old salad container becomes a new one, and clothes get a second life.
